Yes, I know this is deviating from the norm here, discussing Israel, Jewish, Boston, Red Sox and other related things of that nature. But here is the thing, and it actually does relate to Jewish stuff!

When as Jews we traditionally sit down to eat, we do so with reverence towards what we're eating. It isn't just another mundane activity where we shovel food into one of our lovely orifices. We try to elevate ourselves to a spiritual plane higher, we view eating as a way to fulfill our hunger, and spiritual needs. We in a sense take food and make it more than just that food.

So when I walk through the malls, or observe morbidly obese people shovel rat burgers from McDonald's, I cannot help but think how far we have strayed as a society. I think it is about time that we take back our food, and not let this food take over us. What does that mean? Eat proportionally, eat with reverence, and eat with respect.

Well that is all I have for today. Let us not forget exercise (which is something I intend to start working on in the next week or so...)

Day "Two"

Well it is a very snowy day here in the fair city of Boston, the "Hub" of the universe. So I thought I would put some thought into some recent news stories I have seen. Today I would like to touch upon an article I saw in the Jerusalem Post. In a nutshell it stated, that trips like the "March of the Living" and "Birthright Israel" foster a better Jewish identity. In a period where intermarriage is up over 40%, and the lack of respect for our own identity, it seems that these programs reverse the trend.

If you're Jewish and care about the future of your children, and their children's children, why not invest some more time in your own Jewish identity, to help stem the tide. Too often do I see friends and family who are Jewish, who leave our community behind. Much of this though could be prevented, if and only if we put as much effort and time into our Judaism, as we do with our work, and play.

So there you have it for today. The second blog of this blogtacular weblog!

The First Blog...

This is the first of many useless rantings of things that I hold dear to me.
